According to documents filed in a Manhattan federal court on Wednesday, DaCosta is claiming that she worked "well over" 100 hours a week looking after Carey and Cannon's fraternal twins, Moroccan and Monroe, but was not compensated for overtime. She is seeking $100,000 in damages.

The couple's former nanny claims she traveled with Carey and the twins and during her 24-hour shifts, she was not given "any entitlement for breaks, for meals and even for sleep."

DaCosta alleges she was fired by Carey who berated her for "exhibiting too much affection towards her children."

Carey, 44, has admitted to having a high turnover rate of nannies in her home. "I fire nannies like this," she told New York hip-hop radio station Power 105.1, snapping her fingers. "I hate doing it, but I have to ...if they try to make themselves more important in the baby's mind than me."

Cannon, 34, also commented on his wife's quick termination of the help. "You know, the minute the child chooses to go to the nanny before they go to the mom ...I would have an issue with that too," he said on Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio this past April. "Everything is on a trial basis. We are always traveling, so the nanny just might not get a plane ticket to the next city."

Carey's rep told ET that she and Cannon "don't comment on frivolous lawsuits."
