Workout gear to get you to your fitness goals

By RD's Obsessions

With the new year, I've noticed the most popular goal is to be fit. So I thought I'd share some of my favorite fitness gear, outfits, and fitness advice.

Shop this post below:
  1. Mizunos 'Sayonara' Running Shoes
  2. Adidas Tank
  3. Adidas Long Sleeve
  4. Yoga Mat
  5. Nike Capris
  6. Camelbak Water Bottle
  7. Nike Running Shorts
  8. Insanity Workout
  9. Nike Free Bionic Cross Training Shoes
  10. Zella Socks
  11. Neoprene Dumbbell
The most important is your shoes. If you plan on doing a little bit of running and cross training (i.e. weights, indoor workouts), I strongly believe it is very important to wear 2 different shoes: one specifically made for running, and the other for cross training.

If you're new to running, I recommend checking out your local running store and asking for a shoe consultation. Based on how you run, they assist in the type of shoes you should be wearing. I've always ran in Mizunos. I love how light and airy they are that it makes it easy to sprint. For cross training, I tend to go with minimalist shoes. They help build stronger ankles (I tend to randomly roll my ankle). Don't forget about socks. I really like the Zella socks because they have the right amount of cushion to support my feet and moisture wicking.

In order to see results, you should constantly be changing the type of workouts. It creates muscle confusion and gets your muscles constantly active (aka burning fat). If you can't access a gym, I love Shaun T's Insanity workout. It's High Intensity Interval Workout (HIIT) in 40 minutes and no equipment required. If you're really short on time, he also created a HIIT workout for 25 minutes called T25. Both workouts will definitely give you a sweat and no doubt you will see results.
