Lifetime Achievement Awards are a big deal -- and normally, the star who receives the honor receives heaps of praise during the introduction. For Debbie Reynolds, that wasn't exactly the case as her daughter, Carrie Fisher, basically turned the moment into a roast.

Fisher's hilariously snarky introduction was something only a daughter could get away with, and luckily, Reynolds seemed amused by the jabs (though the audience wasn't always so sure how to react).

Of Reynolds, Fisher said: "She's been more than a mother to me, not much, but definitely more. She is a movie star, recording artist, television actor, nightclub entertainer, Broadway performer and co-founder of the Thalians, a group that has raised more than $30 million for mental health. Well, mental health-related causes, and $4.5 million of that money is allocated just for me."

Yes, Fisher left no stone unturned during her, um, loving speech, including her mother's infamous feud with Elizabeth Taylor, who had an affair with Reynold's first husband, Eddie Fisher.

"Prior to our original introduction, Debbie Reynolds was already the voluptuous, fertile half of America's sweethearts, Elizabeth Taylor's matron-of-honor."

Considering their mother/daughter relationship has been known to be a bit strained at times, Fisher's little digs at Reynolds had the potential to be a little, well, awkward -- but they were delivered with love.

Reynolds told Zap2it that she was very excited about the Screen Actors Guild's Life Achievement Award. "It's very nice, really a surprise. They do it kind of secretly, and it was very kind of them to include me. I've been a member [of SAG, which merged with the TV and radio performers' union AFTRA in 2012] since my start at MGM. Everybody talks about the 'good old days,' and I was a part of them. And it's fun to still be a part of this," she told the site.

If it's true that the family that makes fun of each other stays together, then Carrie and Debbie will be close for years to come.

When it was finally Debbie's turn to talk, she had a lot of great zingers, too. Check out her speech below:
