Jennifer Garner won't diet anymore because of 'Alias'

While some celebs may be dieting and working out to fit into that Oscar gown, Jennifer Garner won't be stressing.

In an interview with Yahoo Beauty, the Dallas Buyers Club star revealed that she doesn't go on hardcore food regimens or restrictive diets to get ready for awards season any more – thanks to years of doing so for Alias. Instead, she buys a dress that already fits.

"I don't wear crazy dresses," Garner said. "I mean, believe me, there's always a point in the fitting where I feel like, 'Why didn't I just try to lose four pounds and then I could wear any dress?' I just can't though."

As it turns out, years of needing to stay fit for grueling roles in action movies and TV shows were enough for Garner.

"I dieted for so long in the middle of doing Alias and being a superhero, that there's something in me that can't do anything that extreme," she explained.

However, she admits that she still eats healthy, which is how she maintains her complexion.

"I eat a lot, a lot of salads. That's the way that I get my veggies," the 42-year-old star said. "I eat lots of leafy greens, dark greens, with rice too because I want it to be a meal. I just have a big bag of greens... I keep it in a Ziploc bag and I just pull out handfuls of it for lunch every day."

But that doesn't mean she won't occasionally splurge on delicious junk food every now and then.

"I've found out that I cannot pass up pizza without having some. I just can't!" Garner said. "My kids have a lot of pizza. I can't go to a kid's birthday party without having a slice."

Garner isn't the only actor to play a superhero in her family. She met her husband Ben Affleck on Pearl Harbor, but reconnected on Daredevil, where he played the eponymous hero, and he's starring as the Caped Crusader in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

"[Ben] will eat the way I do unless he's in the middle of really, really training for something. And then, it's such a different thing," Garner explained. "Every calorie and every gram of protein-everything's counted in a way that... I don't know how he does it."

Affleck's turn as Batman is one of the most anticipated performances in recent years, and Garner got an sneak peek at what her hubby is going to look like as the Dark Knight. Check out the video below to hear more.
