Airliners struggle to cope with windy landings
Give a pilot a choice, and they'll pick landing in calm conditions over crosswinds every single time. In this video, it's easy to see why!
The footage, taken by aviation enthusiast Flugsnug, shows pilots having a difficult time at Birmingham Airport at the end of December and beginning of January. Flugsnug identified the planes, adding: "The A320 class of airliners seems to have extra difficulty in these conditions."
It's BHXwinds (Xwinds at BHX airport) season, and the reputation of the unusually gusty ant turbulent approaches here is combined with some extra difficulty the A320 class of airliners seems to have in these conditions.
