109-year-old woman: Avoid men and you'll live longer
When it comes to living a long life, most people might tell you to stay away from junk food, cigarettes or alcohol...
But Jessie Gallan says the key to longevity is staying away from men. And we'll take her word for it because she just turned 109-years-old on January 2nd! According to Gallan, who has never been married, men are just more trouble than they're worth.
She told STV News, "I've never had to depend on anybody. I've had my ups and downs maybe, but I'm fine."
The centenarian also credits her years to lots of walking and indulging in a bowl of porridge on the daily.
Another supercentenarian says some light exercise keeps her going.
Rosa Becker turned 111 last November and says she keeps two cans of baked beans by her side for exercise - she also stays away from alcohol and tobacco.
For the world's oldest woman Misao Okawa, its relaxation that keeps her going.
She turned 116 in March and the Japanese native says, "Eat and sleep and you will live a long time. You have to learn to relax." .... so Jessie Gallan might've been onto something with her theory of avoiding men.
