Rainn Wilson gears up for starring role in 'Backstrom'

To say Rainn Wilson is a man of many talents might be an understatement.

The veteran thesp, 49, is set to star in the upcoming Fox series "Backstrom," where he'll play an overweight, socially awkward, but brilliant cop. The show, which is based on a Swedish series of mystery novels, will be rounded out by an all-star cast including Dennis Haysbert, Kristoffer Polaha and Page Kennedy.

The role is certainly a departure from his gig on "The Office," which earned him numerous accolades, but Wilson will finally have the starring role in this series.
