Jordan Axani, Elizabeth Quinn Gallagher return from global trip

The Toronto man who took a round-the-world trip with a random woman only because she had the same name as his ex, says it was a "life changing experience."

Jordan Axani booked a three-week-long trip with his then girlfriend, but the relationship ended before they could start packing.

When the airlines wouldn't let him change the name on the tickets, the 28-year-old set out to find a woman with a Canadian passport and the same name - Elizabeth Gallagher.

He wrote: "I am not looking for companionship. ... Really the only thing I ask for is that you enjoy this trip and that it bring you happiness."

He also promised that he's not a serial killer.

More than a dozen Elizabeth Gallagher's responded to the post and he chose this 23-year-old student...with a long-term boyfriend.

He spoke with HuffPost Live before embarking on the long vacation and said she seemed like the perfect travel partner.

"I just wanted the ticket to go to somebody who would put it to good use and someone that would pay it forward in their own way...We got to know each other and she seemed like the kind of person who would do something really great with the ticket so it was a no brainer."

The two started in New York, then went to Milan, Prague, Paris, Bangkok and New Delhi before ending in Toronto.

Well it looks like things turned out just fine. They came back from the worldly trip and said it was life-changing.

Elizabeth told WABC, "It was amazing."

And Jordan said, "The question everyone asks themselves as I've learned is 'Would you do this?' And I would do it again, I would absolutely list the ticket again because at the end of the day it was a ticket that was going to go to waste and now we have this incredible adventure... It's going to be an experience we both tell our respective children about."

Elizabeth - who goes by her middle name Quinn - tweeted on Wednesday, "Home sweet home in good ol Nova Scotia! Still can't believe this whirl wind world trip is over!"

The two kept romance out of their trip, even staying in separate hotel rooms, but they plan to stay in touch.
