Viral Videos Of 2014

2014 was the year of the viral video and HuffPost Live has rounded up just a few of our favorites. First, let's get a little weird: HelloFlo's ad for period starter kits was funny and cringe-worthy. Viewers saw what happens when one girl lies to her mom about getting her first period.

She throws her daughter a "first moon" party, sending her into a real-life nightmare. Within a week of being uploaded to YouTube it garnered more than 20 million views. Whether that's because it was truly entertaining or disturbing, we have no idea.

An equally-awkward but less disturbing video that got a lot of attention was "First Kiss." In a film presented by WREN, 20 strangers were asked to kiss for the first time and we found it both endearing and scary.

Speaking of candid, We saw a LOT of anchors go off script this year. Most of them on accident, but one Alaska TV host had us all talking when she decided to make a career change: "Everything you've heard is why I, the actual owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska. And as for this job, well, not that I have a choice but, f--k it, I quit."

This next one probably won't come as any surprise: Disney's highest grossing film Frozen had a major hit that we just can't let go. The film passed $1 Billion in global ticket sales and we can't help but give a little credit to 'Let It Go.' It quickly became a platinum success, selling more 1 million tracks and the movie's album spent more than five weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's 200 chart -- beating the record set by the Titanic soundtrack. Sorry, Celine Dion...

If anything could blow up the Internet this year outside of the Kardashian family, it was definitely insanely cute animals doing cute things.

Hello Denizen did just that with a video called Tiny Hamsters Eating Tiny Burritos -- and it was just as cute as it sounds. If you thought the adorable dining ended there, I'm happy to tell you it didn't. Hello Denizen went on to a web series of tiny hamsters eating tiny things, including a Thanksgiving feast and even going up against competitive eater Kobayashi in a hot dog eating competition. We won't tell you who won.

That's just a handful of videos that went viral this year. Internet, you didn't let us down.
