A few of the massive number of Sony emails revealed by hackers included minor plot spoilers in the upcoming Star Wars trilogy.

For those as thirsty as a storm trooper stranded on a desert planet for word on the upcoming deluge of new Star Wars movies, we have roughly a drop of water for you. As part of the many emails hacked mostly through a leak in Sony's network, a few details emerged regarding Episodes 8 and 9.

Sony Fights Information Leak

Columbia Pictures President of Production, Michael de Luca, included the following in an email to Sony co-chair, Amy Pascal, per The Daily Beast:

"Star Wars: Any studio would have lost josh trank and rian Johnson to this, it's freaking Star Wars. Your After Earth writer Gary Whitta is writing Gareth Edwards stand alone Star Wars film. Simon Kinberg is writing Josh Tranks. No one knows what they're about but Boba Fett is rumored to be the subject of one. Rian Johnson as you know is doing the main ones, episodes 8 and 9 of the Luke and Leia story lines, after JJ."

Rian Johnson, director of Looper, is slated to direct Episodes 8 and 9, and now we know there will be some kind of 'Luke and Leia' storyline attached to those episodes. Of course, 'Luke and Leia' have basically loomed over every Star Wars movie, so who can really tell what this means?

Still, it's Star Wars and it's going to be enough to fuel weeks of message board speculation and diagramming, so it's at least worth noting going forward. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is due in theaters in December 2015 so there should plenty of time to hatch your craziest 'Luke and Leia' theories.
