Adelina Mateo was a once homeless mother of four. Their struggle was increasingly difficult because Adelina's youngest daughter, Jazel, has autism spectrum disorder. After being let go from her job, Adelina relocated to Brooklyn shelter with her family.

The Birch Family Services organization helped this family get back on their feet and their story of resilience and persistence inspired a nomination for Glam4Good. The Glam4Good movement has used fashion, beauty, and style as tools to facilitate and reward positive social change in communities.
