Dev Patel & Freida Pinto: 'Slumdog Millionaire' couple split after 6 years
Freida Pinto and her Slumdog co-star Dev Patel are calling it quits after 6 years together. We fell in love with Pinto and Patel back in 2008 when we were first introduced to them in director Danny Boyle's hit "Slumdog Millionaire" -- and of course they fell in love, too.
The couple met on set and started dating shortly after, but US Weekly is reporting that after 6 years they've ended their relationship. "Dev and Freida have broken up. They have been done for a while," a source tells US
It's unclear how long Dev and Freida have been "done," but the actress did celebrate her 30th birthday in Oct. 2014 without him.
At the party, Pinto, who is 6 years older than her now ex-bf, had billionaire Siddharth Mallya in tow, so she doesn't seem too shaken up over the whole break up thing.
Things might be a bit harder for 24-year-old Patel -- not only has his relationship gone kaput, but he doesn't have a job anymore. The British actor was starring in HBO's now canceled Aaron Sorkin drama "The Newsroom."
When Dev and Freida first worked together on the critically acclaimed 'Slumdog Millionaire,' the actress was engaged to her former publicist, Rohan Antao.
Freida and Rohan officially split in Jan. 2009, and soon after she began seeing Dev.
Even though this is sad news, a source claims that Frieda is "happy" and is even being set up by her friends.
