Awards season is officially underway.

The 72nd annual Golden Globes nominations were announced Thursday morning at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Actress Kate Beckinsale, two-time Golden Globe Award-nominee Peter Krause, Paula Patton, and Golden Globe-winner Jeremy Piven unveiled the new crop of nominees.

"Birdman" leads the pack with seven nods followed closely by "Boyhood" and "The Imitation Game" with five each in film categories.HBO had a strong showing in the television categories with 15 nominations.
