The royals have arrived!

Prince William and Catherine kicked off their British invasion in New York City on Sunday evening. The royal pair, both 32, were greeted by fans and well-wishers at The Carlyle Hotel, a favorite of Princess Diana's.

The Empire State Building lit up in the red, white and blue of the British Union Jack, but all eyes were on the Duchess of Cambridge and her growing baby bump in a fabulous eggplant tweed coat.

Kate only has 72 hours in the Big Apple before heading down to the nation's capital, and it seems like she's making the most out of her first time in the city that never sleeps.

Kate is already off to a busy start in the city and on Monday she made her way to her first solo event. The expectant mother bundled up in a super-chic black coat with white and gold military details and black pumps for a visit to a daycare in Harlem. Kate was all smiles at the event as she chatted with the program's director and greeted some of the center's children.

William was busy doing some schmoozing of his own in Washington D.C. The heir to the throne met with President Obama in the Oval office ahead of delivering a speech to the World Bank on wildlife crime.

William, who has always been passionate about wildlife conversation, described the illegal wildlife trade as "one of the most insidious forms of corruption and criminality in the world today."

Later this evening, he is set to return for dinner at the Manhattan residence of the British Consul General, followed by a reception accompanied by American royalty Hillary and Chelsea Clinton.

The pair will then head over to the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn to see the New Jersey Nets battle it out with LeBron James and the Cavs. Think they'll be caught on the kiss cam?

Their New York itinerary also calls for a visit to Ground Zero and a gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

It looks like the royal couple will be having a fabulous American holiday -- we only hope they bring along 16-month-old Prince George on their next trip!
