Throwback Thursday with Tom Cruise, the former star athlete

He's got one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, but can you pick him out of these crowds?

If you spotted Tom Cruise -- or Tom Mapother the fourth, as he was known back then -- you're right!

Although the actor went to numerous schools throughout his childhood due to his parents moving around a lot, Tom managed to be a soccer, football and wrestling star along the way.

He also played the lead in Guys and Dolls in high school, which is where his love of acting was said to begin.

These throwback snapshots make us wonder if the star would be a quarterback these days if things had played out differently.
