A Seattle-area medical examiner says that Misty Upham died from blunt-force injuries to her head and torso.

The King County medical examiner's office updated its investigation of the death on Wednesday, but the manner of death remains undetermined.

The "August: Osage County" and "Django Unchained" actress died in the Seattle area on Oct. 5, the same day her family alerted police she might have been suicidal.

Friends and family searching for Upham found her body in a ravine in Auburn, Wash. after relatives reported her missing.

Auburn police say the trauma was caused by the fall with no indication of foul play -- but the events surrounding the case are unclear.

Upham's family has spoken out on reports the actress was suicidal, maintaining that the death was likely an accident.
