Tom Cruise Nearly, Maybe, OK Not Really Almost Hit By Bus

Didn't anyone tell Tom Cruise you're supposed to look both ways before crossing the road?

The 52-year-old actor was nearly flattened by a double decker bus in London this week and (thankfully!) he jumped out of the way just in time.

In a video obtained by the "Today" show, the action star is spotted looking to the right as he strolls across a busy street.

In a matter of seconds, the bus honked loudly and Cruise turned his head to the left only to see a massive, red double-decker bus barreling his way. He leaped back to the curb in a flash before being hit.

Cruise, who is currently filming "Mission Impossible 5" in London, didn't appear to be shooting a scene at the time of the near incident.

Despite his near-death experience, Cruise didn't seem too fazed. He spotted smiling and laughing on the side of the road.

Perhaps the veteran thesp wasn't too rattled because he is used to doing so many death-defying stunts. Most recently, he suspended himself from the outside of a military plane while it was 5,000 feet in the air – all in the name of film.

Stunt practice aside, we're glad Cruise didn't end up as London road kill.
