Nordstrom closed Saturday after fatal shooting on Mag Mile

A Nordstrom employee is in critical condition after being shot in what Chicago police are calling a domestic related-shooting inside Nordstrom at 55 E. Grand Avenue.
The shooting happened at about 8:20 p.m. Friday night in the North Bridge Shops in the busy shopping area along the Magnificent Mile, often referred to as Mag Mile.
Police say the man was targeting his "girlfriend or ex-girlfriend," who was a seasonal employee at the department store.
The Chicago Tribune reports that court records show the gunman had petitioned to have a temporary restraining order issued against the woman for stalking.
He entered the store, shot her before turning the gun on himself. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
The employee was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
There were no other injuries reported.
Nordstrom will be closed today. No word on when the store will reopen.
