Stars Reunite For 20th Anniversary Of 'The Shawshank Redemption'



The main characters of one of the greatest movies of all time reunited twenty years after the film first hit theaters.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, on Tuesday night the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences reunited actors Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins along with director Frank Darabont in celebration of the twentieth anniversary of "The Shawshank Redemption."

During the onstage interview with author Max Brooks, the small group said they enjoyed working on the filmbut there was one major thing they disagreed on. The title.



"I wondered, why are they calling it 'The Shawshank Redemption?'" said Freeman. "Nobody can say that."

The film is consistently listed at the top of many top movie lists. It's number four on The Hollywood Reporter's list of Hollywood's 100 Favorite Films, and number one on IMDb. However,it wasn't a hit upon release. It only found an audience after it played on television again and again and again.

Maybe it was the name?
