Amanda Knox has found work as a reporter for a weekly newspaper in Seattle

Amanda Knox has surfaced as a reporter for a weekly newspaper in Seattle.

Westside Weekly publisher Ken Robinson confirmed to AOL News that Knox has been a freelance arts reporter at the publication since this summer.

Knox has written about 10 articles and mostly flown under the radar, according to Robinson, who had nothing but positive things to say about the woman who previously served four years in an Italian prison.

"I think she's a very good writer, she's deeply interested in world of theater," said Robinson. "She's a very enthusiastic contributor to the paper."

Robinson estimated Knox has written about 10 articles for the Westside Weekly, which he said is "her hometown newspaper."

Knox's involvement with the weekly came after she called the paper seeking to write about the Seattle arts scene, Robinson recalled.

The editorial staff did not hesitate to give her the opportunity.

"I understand who she is, but it's no big deal," said Robinson.

Knox works mostly from home, Robinson said. He has never actually met her in person.

"I only have contact with her through email," he added.

Robinson insists there has been no negative feedback to her joining his paper despite being infamously implicated in the brutal 2007 murder of British exchange student Meredith Kercher in Perugia, Italy.

The sensationalized trial involving Knox, her boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito and another acquaintance made headlines around the world.

Italian media referred to the college student as "Foxy Knoxy."

"I've gotten some positive feedback from her writing," he said, "particularly from people involved in productions she has written about."

When asked whether he thought the hire would cause controversy, Robinson replied: "I didn't have those thoughts, she's just a contributor to me."

Knox was set free from prison following appeals to her widely-panned conviction. A subsequent retrial earlier this year saw her sentenced to 30 years in prison.

A request for comment from Knox has yet to be returned.
