Meredith Vieira readies for season 2 of her namesake talk show

Meredith Vieira is no stranger to the small screen. The journalist and talk show host has had quite the career. She's hosted everything from "The View" to "Today" to "60 Minutes" and has been honored with no less than 14 Emmys.

But her latest endeavor, "The Meredith Vieira Show," which debuted in September, is something fresh and new for the media icon -- and was just renewed for a second season.

According to Deadline, the show is the first freshman syndicated talk show to get picked up for a second season by NBC Owned Television Stations.

In the daytime lifestyle-focused newcomer, Vieira chats with guests such as this week's Jennifer Lopez, Matthew Broderick and Giuliana Rancic, but Vieira's also made her own personal story public.

Husband Richard Cohen, who made an appearance on the first episode of "The Meredith Vieira Show," was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and in recent years, has survived colon cancer twice. In an interview with ABC News, she explains that the hardest part of their situation is not knowing what comes next, but all the while, their kids are learning some of the most important lessons in life from her husband.
