It's often hard to figure out if your potential partner has a tendency to be unfaithful until it's too late -- but a recent survey might just help with that.

Gleeden.com, a dating site for people already married, asked 1,000 men and 1,000 women what their favorite fragrances were, and there were definitely some favorites.

Let's start with the men:

They went for more citrus-y and fresh fragrances. The top scents were Yves Saint Laurent, L'Homme, One Million by Paco Rabanne - which looks like a bar of gold and is advertised as "seductive" -- and
Chanel's Bleu.

Bleu's description reads: "for the man who defies convention ... a provocative blend of citrus and woods ... a signature statement of determination and desire."

Then, in fourth and fifth place, we've got Dior Homme and Paco Rabanne with Invictus.

When it came to unfaithful ladies, the scents were a little more bold.

Guerlain's Shalimar made the list, which is described as a "fragrance of desire" on its website.

Next came Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle, La petite robe noire, also by Guerlain, Dior's Hypnotic Poison and Very Irresistible by Givenchy, no description needed there.

We don't encourage you to start sniffing your dates, since fragrance choice obviously doesn't mean someone is unfaithful or married.

As for cheaters? Well, you should either change your ways ... or change your scent.
