The NTSB and FAA are investigating a helicopter crash that killed one person early Saturday morning.

It happened in Wichita Falls around 2:00. An Air Evac medical helicopter carrying three crew members and one patient with life-threatening injuries from Oklahoma was preparing to land when it crashed just blocks from where the helicopter was headed.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene and found burning wreckage of the helicopter, which was still intact. Now only pieces of the frame remain.

Officials say the patient died at the scene. The flight nurse and flight paramedic were transported to Parkland Hospital in Dallas in critical condition with serious burns. And the pilot was also said to be in serious but stable condition at another hospital.
