Hero Police Officers Complete Injured Pizza Hut Driver's Delivery

Two Portland, Oregon police officers gave new meaning to the phrase "to serve and protect" when they helped out an injured pizza delivery driver by finishing his delivery for him.

Portland police told KOIN that a Pizza Hut driver was involved in a car crash on Sept. 1, injuring his neck and back and rendered unable to complete his rounds. But thankfully for Portland residents, Officers Michael Filbert and Royce Curtiss came through in the clutch.

The customer who was waiting on the delivery, Portland resident Steve Huckins, had already contacted Pizza Hut and received a second pizza. But when he opened the door to find the two officers holding his original order, he could scarcely believe his eyes.

"They turn around to leave, and I said, 'whoa, whoa, whoa – I got to get a picture of this. No one is going to believe Portland police delivering a pizza,' he told KOIN.

That photo has since gone viral, although Huckins insists who only wanted to give some recognition to two officers who went above and beyond the call of duty...and the call of pizza.
