Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka marry
Neil Patrick Harris is a married man! On September 8th, the "How I Met Your Mother" star posted a wedding photo on Twitter, writing "Guess what? @davidburtka and I got married over the weekend. In Italy. Yup, we put the 'n' and 'd' in 'husband'."
The 41-year-old wed his longtime partner, 39-year-old David Burtka, on Saturday, and "How I Met Your Mother" producer Pam Fryman officiated the ceremony. The duo has been together since 2004, and they revealed their engagement in 2011.
While few details about the wedding have been reported, "Live with Kelly & Michael" host Kelly Ripa let a few more slip. She told her studio audience it was at a castle, there were fireworks, and Sir Elton John performed.
If that doesn't sound magical enough, there was even a magic show, as Harris is a big fan of illusions.
ABC reports that Ripa said, "It was a very quiet, very private, very family affair ... I probably wasn't even supposed to talk about it, no Neil said I could talk!"
Harris and Burtka's three-year-old twins Harper and Gideon served as flower girl and ring bearer.
