Hosts on Fox News' morning program "Fox and Friends" cracked jokes at the expense of the brutally abused wife of former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice.

Newly released security footage of Rice savagely punching his wife in the face so hard her head hit a handrail in the elevator before she lied on the floor unconscious and in a heap led to male hosts to mock the woman.

"The message is, take the stairs!" Brian Kilmeade said as fellow host Anna Kooiman musters an uncomfortable laugh.

But Steve Doocy took it a step further: "The message is, when you're in an elevator, there's a camera."

Doocy then used the uncomfortable exchange as a segue – to another female show member.

This meeting of the minds came only hours before the Ravens announced they had severed ties with Rice.

The NFL soon handed down an indefinite ban as many online began to question if the league had actually seen the video prior to Monday morning, when TMZ made it public.
