Angelina Jolie's dress revealed on the covers of People and Hello! magazines

Updated

The first published images of the 39-year-old bride's couture gown have been revealed in a dual release on the covers of both People and Hello! magazines.

For the 'fun and relaxed' day, Angelina chose a custom-designed ivory dress by Atelier Versace, featuring delicate straps, a ruched bodice -- and a smattering of her children's doodles, which dot the back of the dress as well as Jolie's veil.

Jolie has talked from the start about making her children a large part of the day. In a previous interview with People, she said, "We are discussing it with the children and how they imagine it might be, which is verging on hysterical, how kids envision a wedding. They will, in a way, be the wedding planners."

And that they were. According to People, each child played a specific role in the ceremony: "Eldest sons Maddox, 13, and Pax, 10, walked their mom down the aisle; flower girls Zahara, 9, and Vivienne, 6, tossed petals gathered from the garden; and Shiloh, 8, and Knox, 6, served as ring bearers. The kids also helped write their parents' vows. And Pax baked the cake!"

"It was important to us that the day was relaxed and full of laughter. It was such a special day to share with our children and a very happy time for our family," the couple told Hello!

Of Versace's top tailor, Luigi Massi, who made the dress, Angelina said, "Luigi is like family to me and I couldn't imagine anyone else making this dress. He knows and cares for the children and it was great fun putting it together."

The full wedding album will be featured in this week's edition of People magazine, which hits newsstands Wednesday.

Though many fans are applauding the unique dress, some feel the day should have been more about the couple rather than the children -- that 'just doing it for the kids' makes it appear Brad & Angie's hearts aren't in their relationship. What do you think? Tell us in the comments.
