End-of-summer bucket list

As summer wraps up, we took a moment to reflect on a few summer-y things we absolutely have to do before cold weather sets in and back-to-school consumes our lives.

It's so hard to believe summer is almost over, but there's no better excuse to make the best of it while it lasts!

An end-of-summer bucket list that's totally doable (for the most part):

Eat watermelon -- and lots of it!

Summer's favorite fruit is only in season for a bit longer, so get creative with these amazing recipes.

Take a weekend trip

Whether you're headed to the beach, mountains or city, summer is for making memories.

Wear white

You don't have to stick to the Labor Day rule, but definitely get some use out of those pretty white sundresses and linens while you still can.

Try skipping stones

Give the fun pastime a shot before the lake freezes over.

Turn of the TV and get out there!

Spend time outdoors

You'll wish you did when you get cabin fever this winter ... but be sure to treat your sunburns right.

Plan a stay-cation

Explore your own city or area through the eyes of a tourist.

Have a picnic

But learn how to pack the perfect picnic basket, first.

Give back to your community.

Eat ice cream

Bonus points if you enjoy it on the beach!

Go to a baseball game

Have a hot dog, a beer, and cheer on your favorite team.

Take the plunge

That's right, get your hair wet!

Get to the beach ...

... or at least rock some beachy waves.

The perfect activity for a cool summer night.

Attend an outdoor concert

Enjoy good music with great people

Take a hike

Summer is the perfect opportunity to get some exercise outdoors -- a much better experience than the local YMCA.

See a summer blockbuster

Check out your local movie times

Take a nap outdoors

Feel the cool breeze sweep over you under the warm summer sun.

Make s'mores

There's no better reason to huddle around a bonfire with friends and family.

Invite friends and family over for a barbecue

Check out some great summer grilling ideas.

Let your feet breathe

Wear sandals as much as possible before you have to stick your feet back into boots and shoes.

Watch the sunset ...

... before it starts setting before dinnertime.

Run through a sprinkler

Unleash your inner kid

Catch up with friends

There's no excuse!

Propose a toast

Just so friends and family know they're appreciated.

Make a fresh smoothie

Try this healthy recipe that even the kids will love!

Toss a frisbee

Classic family fun

Go boating

Get on a boat, whether you're a sailing aficionado or a kayaker.

Watch the fireflies

They won't be here for much longer.

Make lemonade

The stuff isn't just for kids' stands -- add a drop of liquor for an extra adult kick!

Make art

Sidewalk chalk is always a good option.

Go to the county fair

Enjoy rides and indulge in cotton candy, popcorn and fried oreos!

Learn something new

Whether it be painting, surfing, golfing or otherwise, seize the opportunity to learn something new.

Capture the moment

Don't be shy -- snap away! You'll be glad you did when you relive the fun in the dead of winter.
