Over the past few weeks, the Internet has exploded with celebrities and regular folks alike participating in the 'ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.'

The challenge is meant to raise awareness and money for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, and the premise is simple. Participants post a video of themselves being doused with ice water onto the social media platform of their choice and call for a friend to do the same, giving them 24 hours to complete the dare or donate $100 to ALS research.

According to the New York Times, the stunt has raised over $13.3 million for the ALS Association since July 29, compared to $1.7 million during the same period last year.

"We're heartened that the momentum of this incredible visibility continues," Barbara Newhouse, President and CEO of the ALS Association, said in a press statement. "We are so thankful for the generous outpouring of donations and people's interest in learning more about ALS."

This spike in donations and increased interest can partly be attributed to the high-level of celebrity involvement with the movement. With the exception of President Obama, who politely declined ("though his contribution to this effort will be monetary") in a released statement, every day a new movie star, pop singer or TV host adds a new video of he or she being pummeled with ice and drenched with water. So, we've decided to round up some of the best and some of the worst.

We lead our list with 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star Chris Pratt. His unusual take on the challenge, plus his wife's sneak bucket attack, made his video a fan favorite. Others in our top 16 include celebs who weren't afraid to get chilly with lots of ice and lots of screams.

Below, you can find our top 10 celeb fails. Jesse Tyler Ferguson of 'Modern Family' made us laugh with his checkbook stunt but ultimately failed to get wet. Oprah definitely had ice in her bucket, but the water level seemed a little lame to us. Others included stars who obviously had no ice in their water or kept on hats and shirts to do the dare.
