Jake Owen makes surprise confession on 'Chelsea Lately'

Country singer Jake Owen paid a visit to 'Chelsea Lately' and talked about the proposal to his now wife... and part of what he said caught us by surprise.

JAKE: "I was planning on proposing because, um, I got her pregnant... but, the only reason I got her pregnant was because I was planning on proposing."

How sweet? No, but really, it was sweet. Check out this video we found from the actual proposal at a charity event in his hometown.

JAKE: "Will you marry me Lacy....?"Jake said the two met working together on his first music video and they stayed in contact ever since... close contact, he added.

As Taste Of Country notes, the 32-year-old performer will be hosting the 8th annual ACM Honors, a night that presents awards off-camera after the ACMs roll up the red carpet.

The country star is making waves these days with his popular single 'Beachin,' and his album 'Days Of Gold' is now available on iTunes.
