HYANNIS PORT, Mass. (AP) - A man accused of breaking into a home in the Kennedy compound on Cape Cod and telling authorities he was looking for singer Katy Perry has been ordered held for a mental health evaluation.

Fifty-three-year-old James Lacroix appeared in Barnstable Superior Court on Wednesday on a breaking and entering charge. A not guilty plea was entered for him but a formal arraignment was delayed until Aug. 13.

Police responded to the home in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after getting a call from a Kennedy family member who said a strange man picked up the phone at the home and he was concerned about the well-being of his teenage son.

Police say they located Lacroix in the kitchen.

Neighbors tell police he may have been at the home for three hours.
