Choir gives NYC morning commuters a surprise show

There is typically nothing fun about commuting to work: packed trains, traffic jams and hoards of people rushing to get to work. But some lucky commuters in New York City's Grand Central Terminal got quite a surprise this week when a fifty person flash choir broke out, singing original arrangements of songs from artists like Lady Gaga, Pharrell, and Bruno Mars.

While the bystanders might have enjoyed the performance, the police did not. As soon as the choir mob descended, so too did the authorities, but, luckily, no one was arrested.

In case you're a little confused, a flash choir is just like a flash mob but with singing. You remember the flash mobs right? Like the one done at Rockefeller Plaza for

the TODAY Show back in 2013. However, I think NBC missed the point, since this is the opposite of spontaneous.

Yonder,a mobile music app that gives access tosongs without all those pesky commercials, put together the Grand Central Terminal flash choir as part of their "Unlock The Music" initiative. Yonder is asking everyone to take on the challenge by video taping themselves surprising someone with a song in public and sharing it on twitter using the #unlockthemusic.
