California Resident's Unwelcome Visitor - a Black Bear!

This resident of Glendora on the outskirts of Los Angeles awoke from napping on his couch one evening to find an unwelcome guest trying to enter his house.

Just after 2am in July 2012, the black bear strolled up the driveway of the house and poked his nose in the back door.

Luckily, the bear was noisy enough to wake up the sleeping resident almost immediately and he was able to shoo the bear away.

The owner of the footage told Storyful: "We see bears every once in a while, they are usually very cautious and have never done anything but run away when they see us. Usually they are just hanging out in the shade eating our avocados from our trees. I had a couple mornings before school where I would try to chase one down and it would end up in a tree. But we only had the one time they tried to actually get in the house. He came back a couple nights after the events in the video to chew on the door a little bit, but at that point we were making sure to keep it locked!"
