They say beauty is pain, but beauty products shouldn't be painful.

Cosmetic company Avon is recalling more than 500,000 ergonomic eyelash curlers in the U.S. and Canada after several people reported being injured by it.

The company says it received 24 reports of an eyelash curler breaking, 13 of which resulted in injury.

When the curler breaks, a metal pin inside the curler reportedly becomes exposed.

Consumers are urged to stop using the curlers if they already have one.

They can return it to Avon for a refund or exchange it for a mascara.
