High School Senior Scores Prom Date With NFL Cheerleader

It seems like the typical high school movie plot – a cute football player goes to prom with the cheerleader. Well, this story was a little different. Here's KPRC:

"Crosby High School senior Mike Ramirez worked up the courage and used Twitter to ask out Caitlyn, a Texans cheerleader."
"Then came Saturday night, prom night, a night Mike will never forget."

Back in February, Ramirez sent Houston Texans cheerleader Caitlyn Beth a direct message via Twitter. It said: 'If I get 10,000 retweets will you go to prom with me? You will get asked in a cute way!' Beth replied 'Of course I will.'

More than 10,000 retweets later, the two were officially prom dates. Beth told KHOU what happened after the 10,000th retweet.

"The moment it hit 10,000 I got text messages galore saying 'You're going to prom, you're going to prom! Oh my gosh!"

So, of course, the next thing to decide was what to wear to the prom. Fortunately, it wasn't too hard for the duo - they picked their favorite team's colors.

"They told us they coordinated their outfits, battle red of course."

And Ramirez wasn't the only one who seemed to enjoy their date.

Beth tweeted, 'We're here!!!' upon arriving at Crosby High School's big night. Later that evening, she tweeted that she'd had a blast at the dance.

Ramirez definitely scored a touchdown in the date department. He joked he hopes there's a wedding in their future.
