Debris From Space Satellite Launch Lands In Amazon

Debris from a space launch has crashed in the Amazon. A Brazilian fisherman found a large piece of debris from a July 2013 European Satellite Launch.

The 73-year-old fisherman noticed debris the size of a car floating on a remote river last Saturday, and upon close inspection noticed the logo of the United Kingdom Space Agency.

Local police initially doubted the man's claims but a spokesperson from the space agency confirmed its authenticity, saying, "It is the launch vehicle payload shroud from the Alphasat launch last year. It probably landed in the atlantic and then floated inland."

It took ten people to remove the debris from the river.
