Contestant Makes 'Boozing' Error On 'Wheel Of Fortune'

Every once in a while, a contestant's answer on the game show "Wheel of Fortune" just makes us cringe. This week, Rachel Brill was that person.

BRILL: "I'd like to solve the puzzle."
SAJAK: "Okay."
BRILL: "Boozing my shore excursion."
SAJAK: " ... No."

Ooh, so, close but the word 'boozing' gives that phrase a whole new meaning. That's something you do once you're on vacation ... but first you have to book the shore excursion.

A writer for Metro points out that the next contestant went on to correctly identify the phrase - "booking my shore excursion." That contestant also won a Caribbean cruise with his correct guess.

Still, while Brill's fail was hilariously tragic, we think Julian Batts takes the cake for the worst contestant fail ever. "Mythological hero ach-i-lis."

That loss had to hurt, especially since as the New York Daily News reminds us - if he'd corrected pronounced the word "Achilles" he'd have won $1 million.

Brill's episode, which aired April 28th, is one of five episodes this week celebrating the show's 6,000th episode. Even though, technically the 6,000th episode happened earlier in April.

The Huffington Post notes this means Pat Sajak and Vanna White have been gracing our television screens for more than three decades.

While Time was quick to point out this also means White has worn 6,000 dresses for her job as hostess, because she can't wear anything twice, obviously.

But the close-but-no-cigar guess wasn't a complete game show fail for Brill. She walked away with $1,000, which if she ever did go on that shore excursion could come in handy. For a good amount of booze.
