You just don't see neighborly letters like this too often

A person named "Chris" welcomed a new neighbor with a kind letter and dinner in the form of an Applebee's gift card.

The letter posted on Reddit is going viral and explains that Chris is deaf in one ear, so if the TV is ever too loud, the new tenants should just text Chris to let him or her know.

Fox News reports "It ends with a gift card saying, 'I know getting settled in can be crazy and time consuming, so dinner is on me.'"

The note also says Chris is willing to help out if needed, but if the new tenants don't get a response right away, it's because Chris works nights.

Daily Mail says Chris might be the "best neighbour ever." The outlet highlights part of the note in which Chris "also offers to help 'bleed the tank' in the winter to get the gas heating up and running."

Chris mentioned it took the previous tenant a "full day and flooding the house" before the two of them got the tank going.

However, The Braiser points out that some Reddit users are calling this a PR stunt by Applebee's. The outlet's headline calls the Internet "cynical."

We should also note the user who authored the Reddit post has since been deleted.

Well, we're hoping it's the real deal - and even if it's not, we hope the supposed "new tenant" still ended up gettin' some free food out of it.
