'Burger King Baby' Sits Down with Both Moms for 'Today' Exclusive

A woman known as the "Burger King baby" was reunited with her birth mother after she posted a note on Facebook explaining that she was abandoned at the fast food restaurant as an infant and wanted to find her mom. The "Today" show sat down for an exclusive interview with the woman and both her adoptive and birth mothers.

Post by Katheryn Deprill.

'I'm grateful that you're letting me be a part of your life. This is the first I've really ever let myself kind of open up.'

"Today" show anchor Savannah Guthrie noted how selfless Katheryn Deprill's adoptive mother, Brenda Hollis, must be for supporting her daughter's decision to find her birth mom. In fact, Hollis wasn't just supportive - she actually encouraged Deprill.

'Why don't you put it on Facebook, just for fun, let's see what happens!'

Emotions ran high, but 27-year-old Deprill shared some funny facts she and her birth mom, 44-year-old Cathy Pochek, just learned about each other.

'Same car, same color. She actually was the babysitter of my husband.'

Deprill's journey to find Pochek started in early March after she posted a photo on Facebook. Her sign read, 'Looking for my birth mother. She abandoned me in the Burger King bathroom only hours old, Allentown PA. Please help me find her by sharing my post.'

Deprill's wish was granted - her photo was shared more than 30,000 times, catching the eye of media outlets everywhere.

As New York Daily News reports, on March 24, just three weeks after posting the photo, Deprill was reunited with her birth mom.

"Good Morning America" has more on their exciting meeting. 'Katheryn, herself a mother of three boys, says the resemblance is so strong it was like looking in the mirror. She described the experience as pure joy.'

Although their reunion was touching, Pochek revealed her heartbreaking back story on the "Today" show. She says she was raped at 16 years old while on a spring break trip.

She said she hid her pregnancy from her parents for nine long months before giving birth by herself in her bedroom. Pochek then wrapped Deprill in a red sweater and left her in the bathroom of a Burger King in Pennsylvania.

Now Deprill and Pochek plan to continue fostering their relationship and learning more about each other.
