Norwegian Boy Nearly Dies During Call of Duty Marathon
According to The Local Norway, 14-year-old Henrik Eide Dahl drank 4 liters of energy drink while participating in a 16 hours long Call Of Duty LAN party in his school's cafeteria.
"I was playing Call of Duty. Then everything went dark and I passed out," he told Norway's NRK network.
Dahl was flown to a hospital in Lillehammer where they discovered that his kidneys were failing before he slipped into a comma for several days. "When I woke up, I was terrified,"said Dahl. "The first thing I remember from the hospital is that my brothers were sitting at the edge of the bed and crying."
The doctors are not sure what caused the collapse, but they believe that energy drinks overdose is the most likely culprit. "It was severely life-threatening. The central nervous system, cardiovascular system, lungs and kidneys were affected," said doctor Anne Kathrine Duns. "We find no underlying disease in Henry, so for now we are attributing this to the consumption of large amounts of energy drink."
