This week, MasterCard  announced it is raising its dividend by 83% in a staggering effort to return more money to its shareholders. The company announced a host of moves that were all being done in the name of shareholders. Those moves included a 10-for-1 stock split, a $3.5 billion share repurchase program, and a dividend bump from $0.60 per share before the split to $1.10.
