This year, critics and fans alike are buzzing about the highly-anticipated crime drama "American Hustle," set to hit theaters December 13th and nationwide December 20th. With an A-list cast and a critically acclaimed director, David O. Russell, the film is one of the most talked about movies, and it hasn't even hit the big screen.

"American Hustle" tells the wild story of brilliant con man Irving Rosenfeld, played by Christian Bale, and his intelligent, seductive partner Sydney Prosser, played by Amy Adams.

Set in a flamboyant 1970s-era New York and New Jersey, Irving and Syd get caught up in an FBI scheme to take down a string of politicians, led by a volatile federal agent, Richie DiMaso, played by Bradley Cooper. Using a passionate and too-trusting local mayor, Carmine Polito, as their pawn, Irving, Syd, and Richie find themselves caught up in the dangerous, alluring world of Jersey power brokers and mafia men, with Robert De Niro making a quick, but memorable cameo as one of Meyer Lansky's right-hand guys. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence, has already picked up one award for Best Supporting Actress from the The New York Film Critics Circle for her role as Rosalyn Rosenfeld, Irv's neglected wife whose erratic behavior may just unravel the entire operation.

Out in select theaters this Friday and everywhere December 20th, "American Hustle" is more than just a standard crime drama – it's a character story about people trying to reinvent themselves and get ahead in life. The scandal, intrigue, and romance along the way are all just part of the fun.

Many are already predicting countless nominations for the film and its A-list actors including Lawrence and Cooper.
