In September, shares of Kinder Morgan Energy Partners  sunk on the mere thought that the partnership was skimping on its maintenance capital expenditures. Many analysts chimed in to support or refute the idea, but the fact is, the very idea of neglecting maintenance -- shared through Twitter with no analytical support -- dropped shares 6%.
