Turkey Savings If you're shopping for a Thanksgiving turkey, you may be overwhelmed by the number of different brands from which there are to choose. Here's how to pick the best bird and, ultimately, avoid overpaying for it.

Despite the variety of labels and prices you see in the supermarket aisle, many of the birds you're looking at come from same turkey processor. The only difference is the brand name.

There's a reason why are some turkeys more expensive than others. Bigger brands often pay more for advertising compared to their smaller counterparts, a cost that gets passed along to their consumers.

So, when you head to the grocery store to pick out your turkey, avoid the high-priced name brands. Choose the least expensive bird and you'll be getting the same product for less.
