Netflix Teams With Sony TV for New Show
Sony's TV arm has become the latest high-profile production house to team up with Netflix . The latter announced that it has ordered a thriller series from Sony Pictures Television that will debut on the streaming video service.
The series, created by writer/producers Todd A. Kessler, Glenn Kessler, and Daniel Zelman, will begin production next year. The as-yet-untitled psychological thriller will "[explore] the wounds and emotional demons that lie at the core of a contemporary American family."
The show's first season will consist of 13 episodes, similar to the initial runs of Netflix's other well-known series such as House of Cards and Orange is the New Black.
The Kesslers and Zelman will serve as executive producers of their upcoming show. Previously, the three created and executive-produced the legal thriller series Damages. That show ran from 2007 to 2012, initially on Twenty-First Century Fox's FX cable network and then on DirecTV's Audience Network.
