The Gory Details on Hercules Offshore's Double Fumble

EPS came in at $0.01. The 20 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.05 per share. Non-GAAP EPS were $0.01 for Q2 against -$0.12 per share for the prior-year quarter. GAAP EPS were -$0.17 for Q2 compared to -$0.35 per share for the prior-year quarter.

For the quarter, gross margin was 43.8%, much better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 15.7%, much better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was -12.9%, much better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $240.8 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.09.
