Benchmark Electronics Beats on Both Top and Bottom Lines

EPS came in at $0.31. The seven earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.27 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.31 for Q2 were 3.1% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.32 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.16 for Q2 were 33% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.24 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 7.3%, much about the same as the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 3.5%, 20 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 1.4%, 80 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $582.3 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.29.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $2.32 billion. The average EPS estimate is $1.11.
