Sapient's Chief Information Security Officer Named a Top 2012 Security Executive by ExecRank

Curt Dalton selected from more than 10,000 security professionals following a comprehensive two-year evaluation process

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Sapient (NAS: SAPE) today announced that Curtis Dalton, vice president and chief information security officer, has been named a 2012 Top Security Executive by ExecRank, an executive ranking service. The 2012 Top Security list is the culmination of two years of research and feedback from evaluation committees and top chief information security officers (CISOs) and chief security officers (CSOs) from Fortune 100 companies around the world. The selection process leveraged an algorithm based on performance in 24 key areas to identify the top 100 security executives from 10,000 professionals.

"In today's increasingly connected, always-on world, information security is a critical component in companies' abilities to successfully package and deliver their services," said Dalton. "I am honored that my work on behalf of Sapient, which reflects our commitment to delivering the highest level of client service for our clients around the globe, is being recognized by ExecRank."

There are currently more than 10,000 security executives, including chief information security officers, in the United States. A select few are awarded the distinction of being a part of ExecRank's "Top Security Executive Rankings" for 2012. The number one area of focus for security executives in 2012 has been their role in developing and implementing security processes that minimize risk in an increasingly unpredictable digital environment.

"Curt is highly regarded amongst his peers as a top security expert," said Adam Navrozally, analyst for the rankings division of ExecRank. "His strong record of leadership and continued contributions towards innovating the security industry made him an obvious choice as a "Top Security Executive."

Mr. Dalton brings more than 22 years of experience as a security executive, working with a range of firms, including many Fortune 500. He has been a key contributor to the security industry, authoring a dozen articles in popular trade magazines, and a book, Security Architecture: Design, Deployment & Operations published by Osborne McGraw-Hill. Mr. Dalton was directly involved in the development and implementation of some of the first known firewalls. He developed a very early version of an Intrusion Detection System before the IDS acronym existed and implemented one of the first global VPNs. Mr. Dalton's experience also includes successfully founding, growing and managing a privately held information security consulting agency. Mr. Dalton is certified as a CISSP, CISM, and ISMS Lead Auditor & Implementer and is a professional member of ISC2, ISSA and ISACA.
