Semiconductor specialist KLA-Tencorannounced yesterday its third-quarter dividend of $0.45 per share, a 12.5% increase from the $0.40-per-share payout it made last quarter.

The board of directors said the quarterly dividend will be payable in August and marks the fifth time since it initiated its dividend policy in 2005 that KLA-Tencor has raised the payout. The new, regular dividend payment equates to a $1.80-per-share annual dividend, yielding 3.1% based on the closing price of KLA-Tencor's stock on July 9.
