Adobe Systems Beats on EPS But GAAP Results Lag
Adobe Systems (NAS: ADBE) reported earnings on June 18. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.36. The 26 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ anticipated $0.34 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.36 for Q2 were 40% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.60 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.15 for Q2 were 67% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.45 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 86.6%, 180 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 13.5%, much worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 7.6%, much worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $1.01 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.34.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $4.10 billion. The average EPS estimate is $1.45.
